The Black Men and Women in Technology Conferences in 2023

The Black Men and Women in Technology Conferences in 2023 My first conference was the Women in Computing Conference (WITC) in March of 2011. I had been working as a software engineer for over 10 years and had never attended a conference before. I went to WITC with an open mind and left feeling inspired, motivated, and ready to take action. Since then, I have attended many conferences on diversity in technology including Black Men in Technology (BMT), Women of Color in Tech (CoCT), Black Girls Code, Black Web Festivals, etc.

I am excited to see how the field of diversity is growing and that more people are taking action to make it better for everyone! In 2023 there will be two major conferences focused on diversity: BMAT2023 & CoCT2023. These conferences are designed for those who want to take action by learning about technology from a diverse perspective while also having fun!

BMAT2023 is an event created by black men/women who want to share their knowledge about technology with others through workshops, panels, social events & more! The goal of this conference is not only to provide attendees with educational opportunities but also to create a safe space where attendees can feel comfortable sharing their ideas without fear of judgment or exclusion. BMAT2023 will be held at the University of Southern California’s Information Sciences Institute on April 27-28th from 9 am-5 pm each day. This conference will focus on bringing together those interested in technology from all walks of life regardless if you.

As a participant in last year Afrotech in Austin I will high recommend any African who is capable to make it to one of this up coming events for the ROI is highly appreciated.

The process of decision making will make you agile in making your choice. To figure out which conference(s) are worth the ROI (return on investment), some things to consider are the ticket price points, ticket perks, location/travel costs, and benefits.
