Streamline Your Development with Azure DevOps

A Comprehensive Guide:

Sign in to your Azure DevOps organization and navigate to your project.

  1. Click on the "Boards" tab, then select "Queries" from the dropdown menu.

  2. Create new queries for each category you want to track. For example, you might create queries for "Risk", "Dependencies", "Testing", and "Development".

  3. Customize each query to filter for the specific work items you want to track. For example, you might filter the "Risk" query to show only work items with a "Risk" tag, or the "Testing" query to show only work items with a "Testing" tag.

  4. Once you have created and customized your queries, click on the "Dashboards" tab and select "New Dashboard".

  5. Add a new widget to your dashboard by clicking on the "Add Widget" button.

  6. Select the "Query Results" widget and choose the query you want to display. Repeat this step for each of the queries you created in step 3.

  7. Customize the widget settings to display the information you want to track. For example, you might choose to display the number of work items in each category, the percentage of work items completed, or the current status of each work item.

  8. Once you have customized your widgets, arrange them on your dashboard in a way that makes sense for your team. You might want to group them by category or arrange them in a chronological order that reflects your team's workflow.

  9. Save your dashboard and share it with your team. You can also set up alerts and notifications to ensure that everyone stays up to date on the team's progress.

That's it! By following these steps, you should be able to create a dashboard in Azure DevOps that helps your Scrum team track their progress on risk, dependencies, testing, and development.
